Have you ever woken up from a big night out and said ‘I’m never drinking again!’

Then found yourself waving $50 at a barman by Happy Hour.

Well, so has Vic!

Victoria Vanstone brings humour, honesty, and a refreshing lack of perfection to the world of sobriety.

An ex–binge-drinking party animal turned award-winning podcaster and author, Vic tells it exactly like it is. No glossy before-and-after stories, no pretending it was all wine tastings and yoga. She talks openly about the messy bits, the vomit, the blackouts, the questionable decisions, the anxiety-soaked mornings, and the long, awkward road to learning how to live without numbing.

Vic is the creator and host of the Sober Awkward podcast, which has reached millions of listeners worldwide and won Best Wellbeing Podcast in Australia. She is also the author of A Thousand Wasted Sundays, a raw and funny memoir about quitting booze, and Mumming, a brutally honest take on motherhood, identity, and imperfection. Her work has been featured across major media, and her writing is known for blending sharp humour with deep emotional insight.

At the heart of everything Vic does is one simple mission, to make sobriety feel more human, more accessible, and far less intimidating. She doesn’t believe in rules, labels, or moral high ground. She believes in curiosity, compassion, and telling the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

If you’ve hit a wall with drinking, if anxiety, headaches, and blackouts are becoming familiar companions, or if you’re just quietly wondering whether life might feel better without booze, Vic offers a space where you can explore that without judgement. No pressure to quit forever. No pressure to have it all figured out.

So go put the kettle on, get comfy, and come and sit with someone who has been there, messed it up, learned the hard way, and is still figuring it out. This is about feeling the awkward, doing it anyway, and discovering that life on the other side of booze can be calmer, clearer, and surprisingly full.

VICTORIA VANSTONE

A party girl with a socially acceptable binge-drinking habit swapped glitter boobs for mum shorts to work as an author, blogger, and podcaster.

Victoria Vanstone grew up in 1980s England in a happy home full of laughter, booze and a disturbing amount of fancy-dress parties. From her youthful days downing cheap wine at the local park to dodging disastrous relationships and a messy run-in with a firework, her reliable mate alcohol was never far from reach.

Eventually, Vic found herself in Australia with a husband and a child on the way. After sobering up for her first pregnancy, becoming a boring, bottom-wiping, cleaning machine meant she soon returned to her binge-drinking ways, and had to grapple anew with the habits and beliefs that had gone unchecked since childhood.

She is living proof that a party girl can put down the pint glass for good, be vulnerable and honest and touch the lives of her fellow humans seeking guidance and support in their path to sobriety.
